Getting to know Aderhold and each other: Scavenger Hunt
Many of you may be new to Aderhold, or even if you’ve been here before may not know all the services available in this building. For instance, do you know where the best place to take a nap is? (important information for any college student) So we’ll begin with a fun activity that will help you to know the building and each other better. Scavenger Hunt Time!
Getting to know you
I want to spend a little time learning about you. Have someone from your scavenger hunt group introduce you (your major, hometown, how you hope to learn in this class, and something unique about you).
What to do we need for Friday.
- We’re going to start building a website on Friday. So come prepared with some pictures that you can use for your autobiography
- Start thinking about what audience you’ll be creating activities for this semester. What grade level: PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, or 9-12? Are you interested in science, speech therapy, special education, mathematics, history . . . ? We’ll talk more about this on Friday but you’ll be better off if you have a general idea of your interests beforehand.
- If you have your book, you can begin reading chapter one and complete the Chapter 1 reading guide. (You are required to complete 4 of the 6 reading guides over the course of the semester.) All page numbers in the guide refer to the numbers at the bottom of the page. If you have not gotten your text yet, you can access a pdf of Chapter 1 here. This is not due until next Friday, but it’s good to get started early.
